Partageons l’amour du bon pain!

Whilst working at the 2nd most famous building in Mornington Crescent, we infrequently had the benefits of Young & Rubicam’s ruminations on Marketing via a series of booklets. One of them was called “Think French”  I think they may have approved of this? Some friendly facts about your food, courtesy of a local Boulangerie. Nice touch.

Coffee Spent

Eventually bowed to pressure from my better half to throw out the spent espresso coffee capsules! Thankfully not before recording their beauty for posterity though..

Fries to Go

90mmx7mmx7mm  x24 Brilliant concept, Brilliant Packaging, but unfortunately not enough to get a dieting Sparrow even a third full. Oh well, what do you expect for less than a Euro?

Leaf skeleton

Today I opened an old sketch book and found this between the pages. I am soaring far above the clouds squinting at terra firma.. Nature at its ‘most wonderfulist’ (sic)

Pixel Stretching in the real world

At the Salon de Maison et Objet > Design à Vivre in Paris recently and had the pleasure of seeing this amazing rug designed by Richard Hutten. It takes the theory behind pixel stretching an image -well catalogued to be one of my pet loves- and transforms it into a real world object. A great example of how a simple idea can have such an impact.

Cup Cake Plasters

It was really impossible to ignore these little babieson the shelf. They were sitting there asking  to be purchased, and who in their right mind could refuse?  Not sure tho why they are referred to as bandages when they are blatantly plasters.. Made in China, distributed from Seattle, bought in London, and now residing in my increasingly ’stuffed with packaging’ appartment in Paris.

Paris en Janvier

A travelling Theatre workshop arrives in the 18th arrondisement. Spotted in a snow encrusted warehouse carpark while returning from a bracing walk along Canal Saint Martin. Best viewed big & on black here:Orangegodd@Flickr

Paris in the sunshine

Still havent really worked all this out yet.
I keep thinking it’s something I should be doing, but I dont yet know why. Well that’s a lie really. Its because we are clearly  slaves to technology and we just can’t help ourselves. If it buzzes, whirs, slides, shines, glows or even if it doesn’t make any noise at all,  just sits there looking kinda cute, we are slaves. With no comprehension in its tiny little chip of a brain (but oh my,what muscles!) of its eventual demise in a landfill somewhere, it marches on sucking up any spare time up in its wake…

Luckily, yesterday I escaped and went for a brisk walk dans le quartier. The air was head-splittingly cold but the sky was cobalt and the sun was shining. I eventually found myself walking up Boulevard de Denain towards The Gare Du Nord. The sight was breathtaking! No more construction, no more scaffolding- it looked amazing in all its newly scrubbed-up guise. I knew then that everything would be alright.
